On Thursday, John Williams, President of the
New York Federal Reserve Bank, stated that the current monetary policy is
restrictive and appropriately positioned.
He mentioned that there are no
economic indicators indicating a need to alter the policy stance at this time.
Regarding the inflation outlook, Williams remarked that he doesn't anticipate
gaining the higher level of confidence needed to observe significant progress
towards the 2% inflation target in the very near future.
