Atlanta Federal Reserve President Raphael Bostic noted that
inflation in the US is gradually approaching the Federal Reserve's target of
2.0%, a process slower than expected by many. He expressed willingness to
exercise patience and suggested that interest rate reductions are probable but
not until the end of the year. New York Federal Reserve President John Williams
expressed a more conservative stance, stating that he doesn't sense an
immediate need to lower interest rates and believes the current monetary policy
is in a satisfactory state.
